TPB Solutions’ responsible principal, Thomas P. Brown has over thirty years experience in facilities and related systems design, construction, and operations. Tom is a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer holding related degrees, licenses, and certifications. Tom has performed key administrative and management oversight roles on hundreds of millions of dollars of complex building and infrastructure design, construction, and / or renovation projects, as well as operational responsibilities for the same.
Tom developed and implemented his “PINC Management Method®” and California State University, Northridge’s award winning “Student Design Team” program, and remains an active adjunct professor for the CSUN’s College of Engineering.
Tom was a senior University Administrator during the”94″ Northridge earthquake and was responsible for much of the recovery and rebuilding of California State University, Northridge.
Tom has also been a leading driver of alternative and sustainable energy systems installations having installed through his unique in-house design build process 692kW’s of Photovoltaic power, the first 1.2 MW fuel cell power plant installation at any College or University in the world, a highly efficient 2000 ton chiller plant, and a most unique and sustainable sub tropical rain-forest, sustained entirely by fuel cell and chiller plant waste byproducts. Tom was awarded the 2009 CSU Sustainability Champion for these and other such contributions.
Tom is the primary inventor of the Barometric Thermal Trap (BaTT, patented) a key device allowing optimal CHP efficiency of the fuel cell plant as well as enhanced CO2 recovery and management of the exhaust streams.

Tom has most recently been providing related professional support to numerous institutions and public / private agencies with their goals for optimal design, development, installation, and operations of their facilities, programs, projects, and energy and infrastructure systems, as well as consulting and management services on otherwise complex systems and infrastructure or troubled / difficult construction projects.
